Getting started
Choose an edition, prepare Redis, and validate on a staging site before enabling persistence.
Choose your edition
Free is an independent engine for one Redis server using PhpRedis over plain TCP. Pro adds Cluster, Sentinel and optional Relay paths. Review the supported environment before installation.
Prepare the environment
Free requires WordPress 6.5+, PHP 8.0+, PhpRedis and Redis 6.2+. The current Pro modernization candidate requires PHP 8.2+ and PhpRedis 6.0+. Give every installation a unique cache prefix.
Enable deliberately
Inspect the existing wp-content/object-cache.php and back up your configuration. Activating the Free plugin does not enable persistence automatically. Use its explicit enable action and verify diagnostics after enabling.
