Installation

Install Free

A standalone cache engine with no account or license requirement.

Configure Redis

Add this configuration to wp-config.php before WordPress loads. Replace the prefix with a unique installation identifier. Keep passwords in server configuration, never in a public repository.

Configuration example
define('CACHE_CORE_FREE_CONFIG', [
    'host' => '127.0.0.1',
    'port' => 6379,
    'database' => 0,
    'prefix' => 'my-unique-site',
    'timeout' => 0.5,
    'read_timeout' => 0.5,
]);

Enable and update the drop-in

Install and activate the Free package, then use its WordPress Tools or network Settings action to enable the owned drop-in. The lifecycle refuses foreign files and symbolic links. Use the explicit update action after replacing the package; do not copy the source template by hand.

Supported scope

Single-server PhpRedis over plain TCP only. Cluster, Sentinel, Relay, TLS and group flush are outside the Free engine. Its recovery directory must be writable, durable and share a coherent filesystem locking domain with every process using the namespace.
